Description:

Bagaceratops is a primitive ceratopsian dinosaur from the late Cretaceous of Mongolia. It grew to about one metre long, and despite evolving later, had more primitive features than its relative Protoceratops. It had a smaller frill, lacked fenestrae and also had a more triangular skull than its more famous relative. Bagaceratops was a herbivore, which meant that it was restricted to eating the predominant plants of its time, mainly ferns, cycads and conifers. Only fragmentary remains of post-cranial material have been found.
